Blue Hibiscus (Alyogyne huegelii)

DESCRIPTION

Blue Hibiscus

Alyogyne huegelii

Blue Hibiscus, also commonly called Lilac Hibiscus, is not actually a member of the hibiscus family, though it is an attractive hot weather blooming shrub that adds beautiful accent color into a broad range of landscapes. Alyogyne huegelii are native to Western Australia and we love to plant them in our area where they’re the perfect beautiful evergreen shrub for use in entryways, hedges or borders. It’s easy to see why this is such a popular and breathtaking plant – it can display large blue-purple flowers that captivate the senses!

Blue Hibiscus plants love to grow in a spot where there’s plenty of full sun exposure, such as in a sunny border or garden spot. They have a fast growth rate and require low to moderate watering needs once established, so they are suitable for any drought tolerant landscape. We recommend pruning after the bloom cycle to keep them full and doing this can also promote fast bloom cycles. Don’t forget to feed with our Super Charged Moon Juice for optimum results!

At Palm Paradise, we take pride in growing our Blue Hibiscus shrubs only from our own private stock of premium quality specimens. We are unique growers and do what no one else does. We have been growing the finest selection of palms, trees, cycads, cacti, agave and other plants for over 20 years! Best of all, we can assure their quality! We can show you how a beautiful landscape design can increase property value and add curb appeal!
